The Rangers ESFL team put in a solid display against a youthful SCFL Premeir League Hailsham Town side in their last game of 2016.
Rangers took the lead midway through the first half when Jacob Adlam sprung the Hailsham high line and raced away to finish calmly past the home keeper.
Town nearly found their way back into the game twice but the post and then the crossbar ensured Rangers went in a goal up at the break.
A change of formation and personnel saw the introduction of Kent Meier and the returning Dan Wilkes for the second period. But it was top scorer Tony Russell who doubled Rangers lead from long range while a Hailsham defender rifled the ball into his own net after a great cross from Meier which gave Rangers an unassailable three goal lead.
Wilkes, Dylan Nanuck and Josh Harris came close to adding further goals for the away team with the only blot on the Rangers copy book coming with 12 minutes to go with a nicely finished Hailsham goal which saw the score end at 3-1.
The Old Dave’s Gourmet Burger Co. was awarded to Ben Barnett who had a great game at the back.
Many thanks to Hailsham for the game (and the invite) and good luck to them for the rest of the season.
